About Nichola

Experienced, supportive and focused on your goals.

I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1997 and began my career at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust before relocating to Oxford in 1999.

Since then, I have developed a specialist interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, gaining extensive experience across orthopaedic surgery, trauma, accident and emergency, GP outpatient services, and hand and plastics departments at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

I currently divide my time between private practice and working as a First Contact Physiotherapist within a GP surgery. In both roles, I assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. My experience in independent prescribing, joint injection therapy and acupuncture enables me to offer informed, evidence-based advice and tailor the most appropriate treatment plan for each individual.

I have a particular interest in sports injuries, arthritis, neck and back pain, and upper and lower limb conditions. I am committed to continuing professional development and am currently studying towards an MSc in Health and Social Care.

“My aim is to help you regain confidence, return to the activities that matter most and stay active.”

Frequently asked questions

Helpful information before you book.

What is musculoskeletal physiotherapy?

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy focuses on diagnosing, treating and managing conditions affecting muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves. It can help relieve pain, restore mobility and improve function following injury, chronic conditions or wear and tear. Your assessment informs a personalised plan that may include manual therapy, exercise, posture education and prevention advice.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly, or a family member or friend can arrange an appointment on your behalf. It is helpful to have as much relevant medical information as possible available for the first appointment.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies according to your condition, recovery and the activities you want to return to. We will discuss a likely plan at your first appointment. Sessions may be weekly or spaced further apart depending on your needs.

What happens if I need specialist input?

If I feel you would benefit from review by another healthcare professional, your GP or a consultant, I will discuss this with you and explain the most appropriate next steps.
